Cheshire Plain

95% of the county is fertile lowlands known as the Cheshire Plain.

Scattered within this lovely area are some fascinating houses, including Tatton Park, where the annual RHS Flower Show is held, and the nineteenth century Wyatt house, set in over a thousand acres of deer park.

The Plain is perfect for cycling, as it’s not too flat or hilly, and there is a cycle-friendly scheme in operation. Look out for the ‘Cyclists Welcome’ stickers in shops, pubs, restaurants and accommodation throughout the county.

The Plain is also unique in England due to the number and variety of its ponds and meres, which are home to rare birds, plants and wildlife, including the Great Crested Newt.

Very attractive and tranquil walled garden plus interesting sculpture park to stroll around. Car park gets a bit muddly underfoot but whole place is very dog friendly
