West Cumbria Coast
Containing 93 miles of unique coastline, including the only
marina in the Northwest to fly the Blue Flag.
The whole coast can be walked on foot on the 124-mile Cumbrian
Coastal Way, which is fantastic for bird watching. The classic
191-mile Coast-to-Coast Walk runs from St. Bees Head to Robin
Hood’s Bay on England’s east coast and takes in three National
Parks.
The wildlife interest in the area lies mainly in the mossland at
the head of the Duddon estuary and a number of coastal tarns,
rivers and lagoons, the valley woodlands and wet grasslands to the
north and east of Workington.
