Tatton Park
Set in 1,000 acres of beautiful parkland with lakes, tree-lined
avenues and herds of Red and Fallow Deer, Tatton Park also contains
two historic houses, the Mansion and Tudor Old Hall.
Award-winning gardens, a working farm, speciality shops and a
full programme of events can also be found at Tatton.
Within the 1,000 acres of open park there are trails to explore,
fishing, sailing and horse riding, a play area for children and
many opportunities for wildlife spotting.
The Deer have been a feature of the park for centuries, whilst
the abundance of trees and two meres, Tatton and Melchett, provide
ideal habitats for a number of rare bird species.
Tatton has been awarded the status of National Centre of
Excellence for its woodland management and each year the park hosts
a ‘Wood Weekend’ to celebrate this wonderful resource. Other major
events include the award-winning Halle Fireworks and Light
Spectacular concert and the RHS Tatton Flower Show, held every
July.
An 18th century Orangery and Fernery makes up part of a
collection of the finest glass houses in England, containing a
nationally significant collection of Australian and New Zealand
Tree Ferns.
